Pick-up from your hotel and enjoy a scenic drive south, through local villages and coconut plantations. Your guide will share stories about Zanzibar’s culture and the importance of the forest along the way.
Enter Jozani National Park with your guide. Walk along shaded trails surrounded by tall mahogany and red fig trees. Learn about traditional medicinal plants and how locals have used them for centuries. The forest is also home to the rare Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkey, found nowhere else in the world. With luck, you’ll see them leaping through the trees as your guide shares facts about their behaviour, conservation, and why they are special to Zanzibar.
Continue to the park’s famous mangrove boardwalk. Walk above the roots while your guide explains how mangroves protect the coastline and support marine life. It’s a quiet, beautiful spot for photos and to feel the calm of nature.
After the walk, transfer back to your hotel with drop-off in the early afternoon.
