Details
Your adventure commences with a flight from the picturesque island of Zanzibar to Arusha, a vibrant city that serves as the gateway to the northern safari circuit of Tanzania. After touching down, you'll embark on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its sprawling savannahs and the majestic Tarangire River.
Tarangire is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts, famous for its large herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees. The park's diverse terrain provides a haven for a wide array of wildlife, including giraffes, buffaloes, and a variety of predators. Birdwatchers will also be delighted by the variety of bird species that call this park home.
As the sun sets, you will make your way to Karatu, a charming town on the park's outskirts. In Karatu, you will check into your chosen accommodation, be it a rustic lodge or a comfortable camp, where you can unwind and relish the serene atmosphere of the Tanzanian countryside.
After an early breakfast in Karatu, your second day takes you to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. As you drive to the crater, the journey itself is a visual treat, with the highlands offering breathtaking views. The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a vast, unbroken volcanic caldera teeming with wildlife, including the Big Five.
Descend into the crater for a full-day safari, witnessing an unparalleled concentration of wildlife. The varied landscapes within the crater, from forests and lakes to open grasslands, are home to an incredible variety of animals and birds. It’s a unique opportunity to see a diverse range of species in a relatively confined area.
Following your immersive experience in the Ngorongoro Crater, you'll drive back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), depending on your flight schedule. This marks the conclusion of your safari adventure as you prepare for your onward journey to the enchanting island of Zanzibar.
