Explore Kijiji Cave and learn about its cultural significance before continuing to the historic Kigomasha Lighthouse for panoramic views across the Indian Ocean and surrounding fishing villages.
Later, enjoy a cultural encounter in Mawe Matatu Village and discover the traditional use of medicinal plants. After lunch at Vumawimbi Beach, relax by the shoreline or take in the beauty of one of Pemba’s most secluded beaches before returning to your accommodation in the late afternoon.
After breakfast, transfer to Wesha Beach and board your boat to the protected waters of Misali Island Marine Reserve. Renowned for its vibrant coral reefs and rich marine biodiversity, Misali offers some of the finest snorkelling experiences in the Zanzibar Archipelago. Spend the day exploring crystal-clear waters inhabited by tropical fish, sea turtles, and colourful coral gardens.
Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch on the island before taking time to walk along its pristine shoreline and discover its historic caves. In the afternoon, return by boat to the mainland and transfer back to your accommodation for a relaxing evening.
This morning, journey to Ngezi Forest Reserve, one of the last remaining indigenous forests in the Zanzibar Archipelago. Walk beneath towering trees while searching for native bird species, butterflies, and the rare Pemba red colobus monkey. Continue to Tumbe Village to experience the vibrant atmosphere of the local fish market, where daily life unfolds along the coast. After enjoying authentic Swahili cuisine, visit the Kidike Flying Fox Sanctuary to observe Pemba’s endemic fruit bats and learn about ongoing conservation efforts. Return to your accommodation in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, explore Wete Town's cultural heritage, including its markets and historic sites that reflect Pemba’s rich trading history. Visit a local Halwa producer for a tasting experience before witnessing the lively fish auction and daily market activities. Continue to Chake Chake, the island’s administrative centre, where you will discover bustling markets and experience everyday life on Pemba.
